Frequently Asked Questions

Who are we?

We are a local community pool that has been open every year since 1965. It is owned by its members and run by an all-volunteer board elected by the Shareholders (members).

Yes! Other than our lifeguards, we are entirely volunteer run and managed. If you are interested in finding ways to help and keep our pool as part of the community for years to come, please reach out to us via email at wgpra1@gmail.com.

NO! We are not a part of any Homeowner’s Association (HOA). Our By-Laws state that we must have 50% of our membership come from within a 5-mile radius centered around the pool. However, we welcome everyone who would like to join. Regular season rates would apply.

A Shareholder is a person who has decided to make an investment into the pool of a one-time cost of $200. Becoming a Shareholder gains the member voting rights at the Annual Shareholders meeting and an annual discount on the Membership. Shareholders are still responsible for the annual membership dues.

Absolutely! The guest fee is $10 per person per day. Each Membership (not member) is limited to 5 guests per day. Guests from out of state are free.

Fill out this Membership Form, which can also be found under the MEMBERSHIP section. You can also do this at the pool house on our tablet if you like. You can pay via Cash, Check, or Credit Cards (this does require a 3.5%  transaction fee to cover the cost).

Beginning in the 2026 season, a Maintenance Fee of $75 was introduced to raise funds for necessary repairs and improvements to keep our pool safe and operational. In lieu of this fee, members may choose to volunteer 10 hours of time during opening and operations prior to July 15, 2026. If at that point a member has not worked 10 hours, the full $75 will be due immediately. Any hours worked after July 15, 2026 will be applied to the following season’s volunteer hours.

To avoid the $75 maintenance fee, each membership must have a total of 10 hours prior to July 15, 2026. If this has not been done, even if it’s 9 hours worked, the full $75 will be due. This is to ease the administrative burden on our volunteers and to follow the intention of the fee – to keep our pool running and our members invested.

Yes. It is a wide and varied menu consisting of Hot Food (Chicken Nuggets, Personal Pizza, Mozzarella Sticks, Drinks, Ice Cream, Chips, Candy, Soft Pretzels and much more. We also have specialty items on the weekends from time to time (Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Subs, Chili Cheese Fries, etc.).

How old do I have to be for a Single membership?

You must be at least 14 years old to hold a single membership.

Children must be 12 years of age by Memorial Day to check themselves into the pool without an adult present.

(If their 12th birthday is in the middle of the season, they would become eligible on that date).

They must also pass a swim test administered by the Lifeguard.

The swim test requirements are:

  • Jump feet-first into water deeper than your head, level off, and begin swimming.
  • Swim 25 meters (one length of the pool) in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: sidestroke, breaststroke, trudgen, freestyle or crawl (no dog-paddle).
  • Swim 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke.
  • After completing the swim, rest by floating (Typically, for up to one minute).

Unfortunately, no, however members are always welcome to bring a friend for a fee! We are a member-based pool. It is one cost for the entire year. Our ‘year’ runs from May 1st to Apr 30th. Our swimming season is Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. However, the community room and grounds are available to rent year-round.

We do! We have several events each season that are open to the public. Teen Nights, Adult Nights, Bingo, Movie Nights, and certain holidays. We post these via our social media channels, newsletters, and websites.
